Outer Cape Health Services (OCHS) provides a full range of healthcare and supportive social services that promote the health and well-being of all who live in or visit the ten outermost towns of Cape Cod. With locations in Harwich port, Wellfleet and Provincetown, OCHS cares for more than 20,000 patients annually, and no one is denied access to services due to an inability to pay.

Founded in 1987 through the merger of Health Associates of Provincetown (established in 1972) and the AIM Medical Center in Wellfleet (established in 1966). Primary Purpose of Position:

Reporting to the head of Human Resources, the Recruiter is responsible for developing recruiting strategies and to execute the recruiting strategies to deliver suitable job candidates to hiring manager for all open positions.

Essential Functions:

·         Write job postings and coordinate postings  including website

·         Review and clarify job specifications, competencies and skills required with hiring manager and write or update job description as needed with the help of the Human Resources team

·         Write and send out monthly internal email on open positions with referral award information

·         Source applicants through various methods including advertising, recruiters, job sites, career fairs

·         Maintain effective relationships with social and professional networks to source qualified candidates

·         Track and coordinate internal applicants to insure all internal applicants are granted an interview with the hiring manager

·         Review resumes and qualifications to determine suitability of candidates and send resumes to hiring manager as well as upload to shared drive for future reference

·         Video screen and schedule manager approved candidates for interviews with hiring manager

·         Inform candidates fully about the job and company

·         Brief and debrief candidates before and after interviews

·         Follow up with hiring manager after interview for feedback

·         Set up second round interviews as needed

·         Track applicants as they process through the system

·         Send out rejection emails to candidates that have been interviewed but do not receive a job offer

·         Conducted reference and background checks

·         Keep current with sourcing strategies and industry trends

·         Ensure regulatory aspects of the full cycle recruitment process is compliant with federal and state legislation

Travel to all three sites, as required

·         Other duties as assigned


Non-Essential Functions:

  • Attends periodic staff meetings

  • Adheres to OCSH values and principles



  • Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
  • 1 – 3 years recruiting experience
  • Experience in candidate sourcing solutions
  • Experience with Paycom helpful
  • Knowledge of relevant employment legislation
  • Proven track record of success 
  • Must be able to clearly and professionally communicate with applicants as well as all levels of management
  • High attention to detail with a personalized touch
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction 
  • Proactive, passionate, and responsive
  • Ability to multi-task and appropriately prioritize tasks
  • Must handle confidential information in a professional manner
  • Reliable transportation to travel to OCHS sites and work events


Physical Requirements:

This is a sedentary job by nature.  Requires being able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time as well as the ability to use and computers and a phone.  May need to travel to multiple sites in a day.
